Atlus begins annual Halloween cosplay contest

Atlus has kicked off their annual Halloween-themed event, Atlus-O-Weenie. Aspiring and veteran cosplayers can submit their costume for a chance to win one of several prizes, including gifts cards from Amazon and goodies from Great Eastern. Entrants will have their outfit judged across several categories: Best Overall, Best Persona, Best Atlus USA, Fan’s Choice, and Random Winners. The deadline to enter is November 6, with the voting taking place until November 13 and winners announced on November 17. Head over to the official site for all of the details.

Persona 5 gets Ultimate Edition, two DLC bundles for PS3, PS4

Atlus is looking to make it easier for Persona 5 newcomers and veterans to get a handle on the game’s extensive catalog of downloadable content. New players can grab the game and all downloadable packs at once with the Ultimate Edition all-in-one bundle. Current owners can download multiple pieces at a time as part of two bundles. Ultimate Edition clocks in at $124.99 for PS4 and $114.99 for PS3, and comes with the game plus all Personas, all costumes, all BGMs, a new difficulty level, a healing item set, the Japanese audio track, and a skill card set. The Costume Bundle, which includes pieces from Catherine and Devil Summoner, among other Atlus properties, runs $59.99. Atlus to bring Persona 5 localization crew to Anime Expo 2017

Atlus announced that they will be bringing their localization team to this year’s Anime Expo. Several actors from Persona 5 will be in attendance, including Cherami Leigh (Makoto), Cassandra Lee Morris (Morgana), Erica Lindbeck (Futaba), Erika Harlacher (Ann), Max Mittelman (Ryuji), Robbie Daymond (Akechi), Matthew Mercer (Yusuke), Xander Mobus (Protagonist), and Xanthe Huynh (Haru). Attendees will be able to check out the panel in Petree Hall, Live Programming 1, at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 1. Atlus will also be selling a host of wares in South Hall, booth 3906. Fans will be able to purchase t-shirts, plushies, hoodies, keychains, and other goodies.

Deadly Premonition: The Board Game meets Kickstarter goal

The Deadly Premonition: The Board Game has surpassed its Kickstarter’s campaign goal. The initial funding amount of $132,000 was surpassed in eight hours, and there are two weeks remaining, with future pledges going towards meeting the stretch goals. The card-based board game allows for two to four players to take on the role of Agent York as he searches for a serial killer. The planned gameplay will allow players to use evidence, clear suspects, and undermining opponents. Games are estimated to last 30-45 minutes.

Atlus, iam8bit team up for Persona 5 soundtrack vinyl release

Atlus and iam8bit are linking up for a vinyl release of Persona 5’s soundtrack. Two editions are currently available for pre-order, Essential and Deluxe. The Essential Edition is $100 and includes four records containing selected tracks curated by the Atlus Sound Team. The Deluxe Edition takes it up a notch with six records comprising the full soundtrack for $175, and is limited to 1,000 pressings. iam8bit will also be documenting the process, showing how the music is mixed at Infrasonic’s studios, presses are tested, and the packaging is created. The finale will feature the reveal of the artwork. The sets will ship in the fourth quarter of this year.

The Phantom Thieves prove to be a hit, Persona 5 ships 1.5+ million

Atlus has announced that the company has shipped over 1.5 million copies of Persona 5. This marks the second role-playing game, following Nier: Automata, to push over a million units. The numbers cover two console releases in this case, PlayStation 3 and 4. In honor of the global launch, a Persona live concert has been scheduled for August 2 at the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan.

The Phantom Thieves are on the loose! Persona 5 out for PS3, PS4

Years of waiting (impatiently) have (finally) come to an end with the release of Persona 5. Atlus’ latest finds a group of students at Tokyo’s Shujin Academy joining together to expose the corruption around them. To do this, they must join forces as the Phantom Thieves and travel to the Metaverse to battle shadows, solve puzzles, negotiate with Personas, and change the hearts of the wicked. They can’t blow their cover, though, and must continue to go about their everyday lives. Don’t be late for class!

Persona 5 DLC detailed in full date, price list for PS3, PS4

Atlus has sent along a complete list of the downloadable content for Persona 5. Note that not all downloads, notably themes, are compatible across the PS3 and Ps4. Highlights include Catherine-themed clothes and a set inspired by the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado from Shin Megami Tensei IV. Also note that it’s a lengthy table and kind of messy in our layout. Destiny – Age of Triumph final livestream event this Wednesday

Bungie’s final livestream event for the last round of content for Destiny has been scheduled for this Wednesday, March 22. Beginning at noon, the studio’s Twitch channel will host 3D character artist Ian McIntosh and senior gameplay designer Josh Hamrick for the Sandbox Update livestream. Players don’t have long to wait now, as Age of Triumph is scheduled to go live on March 28.

Persona 5 voice actor narrates gameplay footage, freebies released

Ann Takamaki, one of the intrepid Phantom Thieves from Persona 5, is voiced by actor Erika Harlacher. In a meta-tastic promo, she plays through a segment of Persona 5 that is important to Ann. The scenario shows a bit more of the world, with snippets of attending class at Shujin Academy and battling Shadows in the Metaverse. As a bonus, a free theme and three free avatars were released featuring Yusuke Kitagawa. These are only $0.00 until March 21, though, and are only for PS4.
