Final Fantasy XIII-2 getting final four DLC packs tomorrow
The final DLC packs for Final Fantasy XIII-2 will be dropping tomorrow on Live and PSN. The breakdown consists of two episode packs and three wardrobe packs. The episodes center around Snow and Lightning with Snow’s Story: Perpetual Battlefield and Lightning’s Story: Requiem of the Goddess. Snow’s story will pit players against him in a Coliseum battle, with him joining the victor, and Lightning’s portion will see her battling Caius with all-new powers. The wardrobe releases consist of a White Mage outfit, Black Mage outfit, and a 16-piece collection for Mog.

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown set to hit Live, PSN in June
Virtua Fighter will be reentering the arena soon with Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown. Sega sent word today that the download-only brawler will be available on June 5 on PSN and on June 6 on Live Arcade. The 1200 MS Point/$14.99 release will be the latest version of the 2007 fighter, including subsequent tweaks to the engine plus Training Mode, Replay Mode, eight-player Online Room Match Mode, and two additional characters: Jean Kujo and Virtua Fighter 3′s Taka-Arashi.

Piranha reveals MechWarrior Online’s Mech Labs, Dragon Mech
Piranha Games has released some shots from the Mech Lab, the customization area from their upcoming mechbonanza (mechnanza?) MechWarrior Online. The Lab is where players will buy and build their ‘bots, tweaking their loadouts for the optimal combination of arms and style. Also included were some new in-game shots, a few of which feature the new 60-ton Dragon Mech.

Just Batman and Robin busting heads in Harley Quinn’s Revenge
Warner Bros. has released some new screenshots from the upcoming Batman: Arkham City DLC epilogue Harley Quinn’s Revenge Pack. The final chapter, estimated to last over two hours, is scheduled to launch on May 29 for 800 MS Points/$9.99. The pack will also be included with the Game of the Year Edition, also set to be released on May 29.

Avernum: Great Trials Trilogy launches on Steam, now 20% off
Spiderweb Software continues to expand their presence on Steam with the release of Avernum: Great Trials Trilogy. The $11.99 bundle includes the last three releases in the Avernum series (4, 5, and 6). The three are within the same world as their predecessors but do not require prior experience, with the fourth entry taking place long after the third. Avernum 4 pits players against new monsters and assassins, against a re-emergent assassin threat in 5, and against a new foe, a race of barbarous lizards, in 6.

Street Fighter X Tekken enters new arena, now available for PC
PC gamers can commence with the face busting with Capcom’s latest fighter, Street Fighter X Tekken. The Capcom end of their crossover with Namco Bandai is available for $49.99 in stores and on digital outlets. The 38-fighter brawler features a modified Street Fighter IV engine and some of the franchises’ biggest names, including Ryu, Akuma, Paul, and Law. The PC version includes all of the console version’s modes and features, as well as additional graphic options and support for 3D vision.

Blizzard and Valve reach agreement on “DOTA”
Blizzard has announced that they and Valve have reached a mutual agreement in regards to the names of their upcoming defense-of-the-ancients-style games. The companies have decided that Valve will continue to use DOTA for commercial use, notably for their upcoming title DOTA 2, and Blizzard will continue to use “DOTA” for noncommercial use, including community events and player-created maps for Warcraft III and StarCraft II. As a result, Blizzard has renamed Blizzard DOTA to Blizzard All-Stars.

Hitman: Absolution gets Sniper Challenge, other pre-order extras
A few new pre-order items have been announced for Square Enix and IO Interactive’s Hitman: Absolution. Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart are offering a suit and weapon combo, detailed below, while GameStop has thrown down the gauntlet with a standalone minigame: Sniper Challenge. Developed by IO Interactive, Hitman: Sniper Challenge will be available on May 15 on Live and PSN (August 1 on PC via Steam), months before Absolution’s November 20 launch. As an added bonus, all unlocked items and upgrades in Sniper Challenge will carry over to Absolution.

Dishonored release date, box art revealed
Bethesda has sent word that their fellow ZeniMax-owned cohort Arkane Studios is set to release their upcoming action title, Dishonored, on October 9. The first-person shooter features the exploits of Corvo, a supernatural assassin who was once in the service of the Empress’ guard but has since been framed for her murder.

Mass Effect 3 to host weekend multiplayer event, Operation Silencer
EA and BioWare are running a new Multiplayer Weekend event for Mass Effect 3. Dubbed Operation Silencer, the event will run from 6 p.m. (PST) on Friday, May 11 to 5 a.m. (PST) on Monday, May 14. The event is comprised of two challenges, one kill count and one survival. Allies who take down 3,000,000 banshees will receive a Victory Pack, while those that survival until a full extraction on any of the maps on gold difficulty will receive a Commendation Pack.
