Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition released for iOS

Street Fighter IV returns, sorta. Capcom has returned to the long-running entry with a new release for iOS, Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition. The follow-up to Street Fighter IV Volt features 25 characters, including three new fighters (Dudley, Ibuki, and Poison); four difficulty levels; Arcade and Versus multiplayer; and updated graphics, with wide-screen support. Tales series goes mobile this summer with Tales of The Rays

The Tales series is getting the mobile treatment with Tales of The Rays. The free-to-play role-playing game will be a 3D entry for Android and iOS devices. In the portable adventure, players will take on the role of Ix and Mileena, who set out on a journey filled with dungeons, monsters, and treasure in an effort to revive the world. Several characters will also return to help the new heroes. The game is said to offer “console-quality graphics and gameplay, including the all-new Linear Motion Battles system, with simple controls optimized for mobile devices” along with new Mirrage Artes.

Sega Forever to launch free-to-play classics on mobile tomorrow

Sega is launching a new mobile initiative tomorrow dubbed Sega Forever. The new program allows gamers to download older Sega titles for free on their mobile devices. Described as “a re-awakening of archetypal gaming” the collection is billed as “an ode to the deep and diverse Sega catalogue.” The free-to-play games will be ad supported but also playable offline, and include extra features, such as cloud saves, controller support, and leaderboards. Ad-free versions are also available at a reduced rate of $1.99 per title. The company plans to add official emulations and ported games from every console era, retaining the originals as faithfully as possible while updating them for mobile platforms. The inaugural set includes Altered Beast, Sonic the Hedgehog, Comix Zone, Kid Chameleon, and Phantasy Star II. Gamers will find them on Google Play Store for Android devices and on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. New titles are set to be added every two weeks.

Nameless One returns! Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition out

Beamdog has expanded their enhanced role-playing catalog with the release of Planescape: Torment. Developed in collaboration with Chris Avellone, lead designer of the original release, Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition features an updated retelling of The Nameless One’s journey around the city of Sigil. Improvements include a revamped interface, tab highlighting, quick looting, area zooming, a combat log, and a remastered soundtrack. Added gameplay updates are also optional and can be turned off to revert the game back to its original release.

1942 Mobile released for Android and iOS devices

Shooter fans itching to blast on the go can now download Capcom’s WWII vertical shooter 1942 for Android and iOS. The handheld version, 1942 Mobile, features leaderboard support, the ever so important ability to barrel roll, and two modes, Casual and Classic. The game is currently $.99 during the launch period and will be $1.99 thereafter.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney releasing next month for Android, iOS

Mobile gamers are going to get a taste of true justice soon. Capcom has announced that they will be releasing Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney for smartphones and tablets next month, with versions for iOS launching on December 1 and Android on December 8. As rookie defense attorney Apollo Justice, players will visit crime scenes, collect evidence, and question witnesses. They will have to be thorough, as he’ll be facing off against flashy singer turned prosecutor Klavier Gavin. The mobile version will feature a tweaked interface, reworked graphics, and dual audio support for English and Japanese.

Zen Studios to add Bethesda pack with Doom, Fallout, Skyrim tables

Zen Studios is teaming up with Bethesda to bring Doom, Fallout, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to their various pinball platforms. Each series will get its own table next month. Doom Pinball will have players fight their way through hordes of demons in a UAC facility. Fallout Pinball will be set in the wastes and feature Factions to join, Vaults to raid, and Bobbleheads to collect. Lastly, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Pinball is set to have craftable weapons, magic, armor, loot to buy and sell, materials to mine, trainers, and side quests. All of them will have leaderboards, score tracking, and additional social features.

Fallout Shelter – Update 1.9 to add new quests, Thanksgiving extras

Fallout Shelter will receive an update later this month for the mobile and PC versions. Update 1.9 is slated to add several regular and weekly quests as well the caves from Fallout 4 as a new location. Thanksgiving-themed goodies will also be added, with timed quests, room visuals, seasonal outfits, and extra stickers for iOS 10 iMessage.

Zen unleashes the ladies with Marvel Pinball: Women of Power

Zen Studios has released two packs of tables featuring heroes and villains for Marvel Pinball. The tables are available across their console and PC lines, with the mobile versions getting them on Thursday. Ms. Marvel, Black Widow, Squirrel Girl, and others make appearances. On one table, Black Widow and Madame Masque must keep the Cosmic Cube balls from breaking to avoid an alternate reality dominated by the Soviet Union. On another, Bombshell and Ms. Marvel duke it while Squirrel Girl and Spider-Gwen assist from the sidelines.

RPG Creator game-creation kit launching for iOS on September 25

Degica has announced that they will be expanding their role-playing creation kits to mobiles with RPG Creator for iOS. The app will allow users to craft their own handheld adventures, with options to create castles, caves, villages, and world maps, as well as access behavioral databases to control enemy actions and events. Assets can be imported to customize the quest, or users can utilize pre-made items provided in the download. Games will also be uploadable and downloadable, allowing for players to share their creations.
