Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare multiplayer, more debuted at CoD XP

Call of Duty XP, the celebration of all things Call of Duty, began earlier today. As part of the festivities, Activision released a multiplayer trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare as well as word that PS4 players who pre-order will gain to access a multiplayer beta on October 14. Also announced was that Modern Warfare Remastered will include all 16 original multiplayer maps, with the remaining six joining the initial 10 at no cost this December. Jackal Assault, the PSVR update for PS4, will go live later this year as well, also for free. A stream of the event showcasing Infinite Warfare’s multiplayer mode, Modern Warfare Remastered, new content from Black Ops III, and more can be viewed throughout the weekend on Twitch, Youtube, and CallofDuty.com.

Bethesda details E3 2016 showcase, BE3 Plus, on-site and streaming

Bethesda has announced their event plans for this year’s E3 showcase, BE3 Plus. As before, the studio will be streaming the conference live on their Youtube and Twitch channels, which will begin at 5:15 p.m. (CST) with the showcase proper kicking off at 6:00 p.m. Former G4 TV X-Play hosts Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb will open the show and interview developers afterwards. Blink-182 will also perform after the showcase. For those in Los Angeles, a Standby Line will open at noon (CST) and offer non-ticket-holding fans the chance to get in the show, located at The LA Hangar, 2627 Medford Street. For those who don’t make it in, an outdoor area will be set up for 300 people to check out a stream.

Call of Duty XP 2016 detailed, hands-on with Infinite Warfare, events

Activision is preparing to open ticket sales for Call of Duty XP 2016, “the biggest Call of Duty fan event in history.” Running from September 2-4 in Los Angeles, the Call of Duty World League will host the final teams for $2 million in prizes at the Call of Duty World League Championship. The event will also feature hands-on demos of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered multiplayer,and new downloadable content for Call of Duty: Black Ops III. There will also be exhibits, developer panels, a surprise musical guest, paintball in a life-sized replica of Black Ops’ Nuketown map, Zombies laser tag, and the first Call of Duty VR experience that will include piloting a Jackal. Tickets will go on sale at noon (CST) on June 11 for $49, $129, and $199. Full details are below. Gears of War 4 multiplayer trailer, PAX East events details posted

The Coalition has released a new trailer ahead of the Gears of War 4’s multiplayer beta opening to all Live Gold members. The beta will open up next Monday, so to get newer players up to speed, a highlight reel was put together showcasing some of the new weapons, abilities, and executions. The Dropshot, Buzzkill, and vault kick all pop up. PAX East attendees will get a chance to try multiplayer with a hands-on demo as well as watch the Gears eSports ESL Pro League Season 2 Grand Finals, catch the reveal of the new competitive mode Escalation, and sit in on a multiplayer-themed panel hosted by The Coalition. Gamers who won’t be in Boston for the show can check out the events, and take part in some giveaways, at 10:00 a.m. (CST) at the official Gears Twitch channel.

QuakeCon 2016 – Round 2 pre-registration opening later today

Bethesda HQ has sent out word notifying QuakeCon 2016 attendees that the second round of passes is opening today for pre-registration. The package will go live for order today at 7 p.m. (CST) at registration.quakecon.org. The ‘BYOC Select-a-Seat with QuakeCon done Quick’ is $140 and limited to 300 packages. It includes express lane past-pass registration for the BYOC, all events, panels, and presentations, select and reserved seating in the BYOC area, and a lanyard. General attendance remains free.

QuakeCon 2016 pre-registration, package details announced

Bethesda has announced pre-registration details for this year’s QuakeCon. QuakeCon 2016 will once again take place in Dallas, TX, with the event running from Thursday, August 4 to Sunday, August 7. As before, a number of BYOC packages will be purchasable through registration.quakecon.org. The packages will be opened in three stages this year, with the final being pre-registration for general attendees. Note that general attendance will once again be free. Swag packages, previously put together beforehand, will also be customized by attendees. This year’s official shirt design will also be up for vote at quakecon.org. QuakeCon returning to Dallas for 2016, taking place August 4-7

QuakeCon will be returning to the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas. Bethesda has announced that the four-day event will take place Thursday, August 4 through Sunday, August 7, 2016. General attendance will once again be free, but as in years past, special for-pay packages will be offered for reserved seating at events, shorter waits, and bags of items.

gamescom – Microsoft: Halo Wars 2, Killer Instinct S3, DVR, more

Microsoft made a number of announcements at this year’s gamescom. A few of which include the reveal of Halo Wars 2 for Xbox One and Windows 10, currently in development at Creative Assembly, Killer Instinct Season 3, and the addition of Shadow Complex to the backwards compatibility preview program. Speaking of which, Microsoft plans to have up to 100 Xbox 360 titles supported by the November launch. Other announcements included console bundles for Fifa 16 and Halo 5: Guardians, DVR for Over-the Air TV functionality for Xbox One (a subscription-free service, allowing for streaming and transferring between devices), two Halo 5 wireless controllers ($69.99 each), and a chatpad ($34.99). Deep Silver releases new Homefront: The Revolution screens, trailer

A new trailer has gone live for Homefront: The Revolution. The upcoming open-world shooter from Deep Silver Dambuster Studios switches things up from the original Homefront by eschewing a linear storyline in favor of greater freedom. Players will be able to tackle missions in any order as they lead a band of resistance fighters against an oppressive Korean corporation in Philadelphia. The group must rely on guerrilla tactics to further the cause, such as ambushes, improvised weaponry, and hit-and-run attacks. After inspiring others to join the cause in the single-player campaign, players can take the war online by linking up with others to form Resistance Cells.
