Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare is sending players back onto the battlefield today with the release of the free download pack Zomboss Down. The new pack adds eight playable characters, including Wrestling Star Zombie and Sun Pharaoh, an increased level cap from 20 to 30, 200-plus items, two new levels (Cactus Canyon Gardens and Graveyards Map), and new challenges.

Fulgore, Arcade Mode, lobbies, and more added to Killer Instinct

Killer Instinct’s first season wraps up today with the release of its eighth and final character, Fulgore. The killer cyborg, sporting an updated look but still slinging about a pair of massive blades, is available for $4.99. A general game update has also gone live, adding a new Arcade Mode, a Spectator Mode, and eight-player online lobbies. The end of season one also marks the transition of development duties from creators Double Helix to the new series stewards Iron Galaxy.

GTA Online double GTA$ and RP promo kicks off for Capture Creator

Rockstar is promoting the upcoming release of their Capture Creator tool for Grand Theft Auto Online with a GTA$ and RP boost. The kit will be available on April 11 and allow players to create jobs across Content, GTA, Hold, and Raid, which they can publish for others to play as well as rate and share at the Rockstar Games Social Club. From now until Friday, players who take part in any of the Capture Jobs will receive twice the amount GTA$ and RP, and to get everyone started, the studio has highlighted six jobs that players should check out.

Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut out for Xbox, PC, tomorrow for PS4

Strike Suit Zero makes its console debut today with the release of the Director’s Cut edition for Xbox One. PC gamers can also download the re-release, which has been home to the original version since early last year, while PS4 owners will be able to grab it tomorrow. The updated version sports new ship models, improved textures, a restructured campaign, two new suits, and the additional campaign that was added as part of the Heroes of the Fleet DLC pack.

Company of Heroes 2 heads back west in The Western Front Armies

Fire up the grill and break out the apple pie: we’re coming. This June, Relic will be offering the chance to play as the US Forces and the German Oberkommando West in a new standalone multiplayer expansion for Company of Heroes 2, The Western Front Armies. Gamers will be able to download the pack as a bundle for $19.99 or per army for $12.99 each. Each side will have unique tactical options as well as new infantry, vehicles, abilities, upgrades, and team weapons, while players will advance through a new progression system. Eight seasonal maps set on the Western Front will also be added. All 31 maps will be accessible to all players, even if they only own the expansion.

It’s time for Alucard to show Gabriel how it’s done today with the launch of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 – Revelations. The prequel storyline follows Alucard up to his reunion with his father, the demon lord Dracula. The new download pack adds new areas to explore within the world of Lords of Shadow 2, as well as two new powers (Glaciem and Igneas), power boosts through drinking blood, and the ability to transform into a werewolf.

Infamous returns today with the release of the PS4-exclusive entry Second Son. Sucker Punch’s latest action title follows Delsin Rowe, a 24-year-old who has recently discovered that he can harness powerful abilities. Players must battle an increasingly despotic government around the city of Seattle, which features actual businesses and popular landmarks. The engine will also render rain, dynamic lighting, and progress through a day-and-night cycle. As in the previous titles, players will be able to choose between being good and evil, with each path offering unique missions, story sequences, and upgrades.

Alucard rages in new Lords of Shadow 2 – Revelations shots, video

Alucard struts his vampiric stuff today in some new media from his upcoming Lords of Shadow 2 story DLC, Revelations. The new storyline precedes the events of Lords of Shadow 2, and is said to dig deeper into the bond between Alucard and his father, Gabriel. Players will be able to access new locations, use two new powers, transform into a wolf, and enhance Alucard’s abilities by drinking the blood of defeated enemies.
