Vertical shooter Bullet Soul Infinite Burst launches for PC

Mages has unleashed more shooter action to Steam with the release of Bullet Soul Infinite Burst. The revamped version retains the bullet-cancelling gameplay of the original while adding Burst Mode and a new playable character, Loop. Burst features revamped levels, a new coin-collecting mechanic, and the Combination Burst system. Normal and Caravan modes have also been redesigned as well as rebalanced with different enemies and attack patterns. Tate/vertical and leaderboards are also supported.

Final Fantasy XV gets Magitek Exosuits, new quest in July update

The latest free monthly download has gone live for Final Fantasy XV. The July update adds Magitek Exosuits for Noctis and friends, granting 30 minutes of invincibility per day, along with a new quest (O Partner, My Partner) set after Chapter 8. Additionally, the crew can now engage the Cross Chain collaboration system to damage defensive-minded enemies by using linked attacks. Moogle Chocobo Carnival has also returned, allowing players to take part in mini-games, including Chocobo water races, and pick up special Moogle Chocobo menu items at the Square Enix Cafe until late September. Accessing the carnival requires owning the free FFXV Holiday Pack or for-pay FFXV Holiday Pack +. Game Tengoku CruisinMix, Sega Saturn shooter, headed to PC, PS4

Degica is bringing Jaleco’s 1997 shooter Game Tengoku to PC and PS4 under the title Game Tengoku CruisinMix. Set to launch this fall, the character-based vertical shooter, previously exclusive to arcade and Sega Saturn, features characters and levels based on Jaleco’s games and the arcade culture of Japan during the 1990s. The port will adds several extras to the original, including more characters and new gameplay elements.

Eliza, Taiko No Tatsujin-themed accessories added to Tekken 7

A new fighter has joined Tekken 7’s roster today: Eliza. Skipping the queue to beat upcoming downloadable character Geese Howard out of the gate, Eliza brings a unique background along with her vampiric abilities. Players looking to customize their experience will also find several Taiko No Tatsujin-themed items on offer, ranging from outfits to health gauge skins. North American players will be more familiar with its localized title, Taiko: Drum Master. Look at that picture above, how can anyone resist adding that to their outfit?

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice to support PS4 Pro, new trailer live

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice received a new video today, aptly titled Official Trailer. Ninja Theory also took the opportunity to reveal that the game will support special features for PlayStation 4 Pro. Owners of the souped–up console can choose between a higher resolution or a steady 60 frames per second. Fittingly, PC owners will have extra graphical options, including an uncapped framerate, resolutions up to 4K, and support for 21:9 ultra widescreen. Check the trailer out below.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age coming stateside

Square Enix has revealed that they will be bringing Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age to North America next year. The game is said to “offer a world of adventure, exploration and instances of heroism” that is “brought to life by the character art of famed manga artist Akira Toriyama and the memorable music of composer Koichi Sugiyama.” A video featuring series creator Yuji Horii, posted below, offers a plushie-slime-filled announcement.

Halo Wars 2 – Serina, Operation: Spearbreaker out for PC, Xbox One

Halo Wars 2 received two new downloadable drops today, Serina and Operation: Spearbreaker. The first pack features Serina, the UNSC Spirit of Fire’s AI from the original Halo Wars, while the second expands the campaign with two additional missions. Serina returns in full form, despite her unfortunate fate, while the story missions expand on the main game’s plot, as players take charge of a hero squad of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers against the Banished.

Dual-field shooter Dimension Drive launching this fall for NS, PC

2Awesome Studio has sent word that they are planning to release Dimension Drive for Switch as well as the PC this fall. A space-based shooter, Dimension Drive has players controlling two games at once on a dual battlefield. The game will support single player as well as local co-op. Gamescom attendees can get a first look at the Nintendo Switch version at the Indie Arena Booth (Hall 10.1 Booth A-020).

Tactical-RPG Solstice Chronicles: MIA launches for Windows PC

Solstice Chronicles: MIA, follow-up to The Red Solstice, has gone live on Steam. Available for the discounted price of $19.99, the spiritual successor finds humans living on Mars, after having fled from a disease running rampant on Earth, facing a fresh outbreak in the colonies. The Corporation and insurgents are now fighting to find a cure and return home. The tactical-RPG is also one of the first games to have been funded through crowdfunding platform Fig.co, courtesy of 500-plus backers and investors.

Etrian Odyssey V first-run goodies revealed, Dragoon trailer released

As the slow march continues to more map-making and dungeon-crawling, Atlus has released info about the first-run extras that are to be included with Etrian Odyssey V. The launch edition will bundle together the game, a 24-page art book with character pieces and concept sketches, a six-track CD, and a protective outer box. But it’s not just all bonuses, as a new trailer also highlights the Dragoon, an armor-clad juggernaut that protects the three other classes. The Atlus crew is also set to celebrate Etrian’s 10-year anniversary with a new streaming event, set to begin at 5:00 p.m. (CST) on July 28, with Will and EJ playing several of the entries.
