Strafe gets several special editions, including physical copies

Devolver Digital is set to release three different collector’s editions for Pixel Titans’ Strafe. The upcoming procedurally generated first-person shooter will be available from Special Reserve Games as the Throwback Edition, complete with pogs and floppy discs; the Vinyl Edition with a two-disc vinyl set from Laced Records; and the PS4 Collector’s Box, which comes with a region-free copy of the game for PS4. All pre-orders come with an exclusive weapon, the VV-1N.

Horror-themed puzzle-platformer Little Nightmares out for console, PC

Tarsier Studios’ latest horror-themed adventure, Little Nightmares, has been released in stores and online for console and PC. Published by Bandai Namco, Little Nightmares puts players in the shoes of Six, a heroine who must journey through the Maw, a strange vessel set within a “grim and shadowy universe” filled with strange and dangerous creatures. Six has only her raincoat and a lighter to aid her escape, as players “experience a bleak and oversized world that blurs the lines between dreams and nightmares.”

Atlus, iam8bit team up for Persona 5 soundtrack vinyl release

Atlus and iam8bit are linking up for a vinyl release of Persona 5’s soundtrack. Two editions are currently available for pre-order, Essential and Deluxe. The Essential Edition is $100 and includes four records containing selected tracks curated by the Atlus Sound Team. The Deluxe Edition takes it up a notch with six records comprising the full soundtrack for $175, and is limited to 1,000 pressings. iam8bit will also be documenting the process, showing how the music is mixed at Infrasonic’s studios, presses are tested, and the packaging is created. The finale will feature the reveal of the artwork. The sets will ship in the fourth quarter of this year.

Gundam Versus debuting stateside this fall for PS4

Playstation 4 owners will be able to control 90-plus Mobile Suits from over 35 years in Gundam Versus. The release will mark the series debut in North America, and is said to have been built from the ground up solely for PS4. The game supports two-versus-two as well as three-versus-three team battles, with players battling it out in mobile suits that have their own weapon systems and utilize new mobility options.

Forza Horizon 3 – Hot Wheels to be available on May 9

Forza Horizon 3’s second downloadable expansion, Hot Wheels, is scheduled to go live on May 9. The add-on will expand the world with six new themed islands, described as “a place where lazy Sunday drives are replaced by insane high-speed stunts on miles of looping, banking, giant iconic orange Hot Wheels tracks.” There are even a few giant mechanical dinosaurs. A new Stunt Swap feature also allows players to modify stunt track sections to share with friends. Ten Hot Wheels will be added to tackle the courses, including Twin Mill, Rip Rod, and Bone Shaker. A debut livestream, with special guests and first-look gameplay, is scheduled for May 8 at noon over at Beam.pro.

Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception’s healer, Nekone, in the spotlight

Utawarerumono’s mercenary was highlighted recently, and now it’s his sister’s turn, the child prodigy Nekone. She looks up to Ukon, while finding her brother’s nonchalant attitude annoying. Thanks to her time studying in the Imperial Capital, she is capable of serving the party both as a healer and a strategist. See her in action below.

Call of Duty returns to 1940s this November with Call of Duty: WWII

Beginning on November 3, players will once again re-deploy throughout the battlefields of Europe in Call of Duty: WWII. The story will find players trekking across multiple fronts as members of the 1st Infantry Division, experiencing “gritty realism, authenticity and cinematic intensity on an epic scale.” Multiplayer will feature a narrative-driven mode with the ability to create a class, a Headquarters to socialize with other players, and maps set throughout Europe. Nazi Zombies will also return with a standalone storyline. PS4 pre-orders will receive access to the Private Beta, which is set for later this year. In addition to the standard edition, players can pre-order the $99.99 Digital Deluxe Edition with the Season Pass or the $99.99 Pro Edition with the Season Pass and a SteelBook case.

Dragon Quest Heroes II now in stores, online for PS4 and PC

Square Enix has released Dragon Quest Heroes II. The action role-playing game, developed by Koei Tecmo, follows up on but isn’t connected to the 2015 original. In the new adventure, players set out, alone or with friends in multiplayer, to save the Seven Realms. Along with online support, the sequel also features an interconnected single-player world, the ability to play as monsters, 15 playable characters, eight extra characters in multiplayer, more customization options, and Dimensional Dungeons as well as story-driven War Zones in multiplayer.

GTA Online adds car combat mode Tiny Racers, gives free GTA$

GTA Online has received new competitive racing mode, Tiny Racers. Up to four players can battle it out across seven courses in a classic top-down view. The goal isn’t just to come in first but to avoid falling too far behind because whoever lags will eventually explode. Participants are able to grab a variety of power-ups, from bombs to rockets, to reach the head of the pack. Additionally, players who log in this week are eligible for a GTA$425K ‘tax rebate’, which will be deposited in their Maze Bank account during May.
