Capcom has announced two new entries in the Monster Hunter franchise: Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for 3DS and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite for iOS. Ultimate continues the series’ traditional formula of hunting, gathering, and crafting as a hunter traveling the world in a caravan. A first for the series, handheld gamers will be able to link up both locally and through the Internet by using the Nintendo Network. Other additions include an expanded moveset for greater vertical and lateral range, two new weapon classes, new monsters and locations, refined climbing motions, and the ability to ride monsters.
During their GOG.com Summer Conference, CD Projekt Red detailed a Collector’s Edition and pre-order bonuses for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Wild Hunt will be available in three versions: a digital version, a standard boxed version, and the Collector’s Edition. The standard physical release will include the game, the soundtrack, an informational book titled Witcher Universe – The Compendium, a map, a set of stickers, and a protective sleeve. The Collector’s Edition includes even more, adding a steelbook box, a 200-page art book, a Witcher medallion, and a 33x24x26 cm hand-painted figure of Geralt of Rivia fighting a Griffin. There will even be an inner and outer box to store the goods.
Dead Rising 3, formerly an Xbox One exclusive, will be making its way to PC later this summer. Capcom has announced that it will be a download-only release available through Steam. This version will feature “high PC resolutions with fully optimized visuals for the wide screen, upgraded textures on characters, backgrounds and in-game objects.” As a Steam title, the game will support Steam Achievements, Clouds, and Trading Cards as well as support for global leaderboards and controllers.
