343 Industries has announced that they are currently developing the fifth entry in the main Halo line, Guardians. Currently scheduled to ship in fall 2015, 343 explained that the extended development cycle is because a “game that runs at 60 frames per second, on dedicated servers, with the scope, features and scale we’ve been dreaming of for more than a decade, is non-trivial.” The studio also noted that Guardians will be larger than Halo 4, in terms of “content and scope” and tech, namely “a brand new and more powerful engine.”
More information will be made available at the Xbox E3 2014 Media Briefing on June 9.
Halo 5: Guardian is scheduled to launch in fall of 2015 for Xbox One.
