Square Enix’s upcoming supernatural procedural title from Airtight Games, Murdered: Soul Suspect, will be hitting store shelves on June 3. A pre-order bonus was also announced, an interactive digital strategy map. The map will be accessible on a computer or tablet and serve to help players find all of Salem’s goodies, from quests to Easter Eggs. Players will spend a lot of time roaming the city streets as recently deceased detective Ronan O’Connor, who must travel through the limbo world of Dusk as he searches for his murderer.
Team Dakota’s Project Spark beta has been expanded to include Xbox One in addition to Windows 8.1. The cross-platform beta allows users to create and share levels and worlds with one another across various devices, an approach that emphasis the project’s three tenants: create, play, and share. Described as “the ultimate interactive digital playground for fans and creators,” pieces can be shared with Team Dakota and other testers, who can then offer feedback. The program itself is also undergoing testing, with users submitting feedback to the developers as they work out the final kinks before launch later this year.
Rocksteady will be returning to the Batman: Arkham series for the storyline’s finale, Batman: Arkham Knight. Warner Bros. Interactive has announced that the conclusion will ship later this year for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Series fans will have to face off against old foes as Scarecrow returns with a cohort of villainous allies, including Harley Quinn, Pengiun, and Two-Face. All of Gotham City will be a battleground next time around, and now gamers will have a chance to zip around the city in the Batmobile. A nearly four-minute trailer, Father to Son, was also released.
After selling 370,000 units in Japan since its launch on February 22, the PlayStation 4 has passed the 6-million-unit mark, according to a new announcement from Sony. In addition, PS Plus is also increasing in numbers, as according to the release, “in addition to existing members, more than half of PS4 owners are enjoying the benefits of PS Plus.” On the software side, Killzone: Shadow Fall has now sold over 2.1 million copies worldwide, while general software sales have reached over 13.7 million sales in stores and through PS Store for all available games.
Square Enix has announced the second wave of pre-order bonuses for their upcoming role-playing game Drakengard 3. The first set of extras included a voice-over pack that featured the original Japanese track, and now, it’s been revealed that players who pre-order before April 8 will receive the Nier Costume Pack. The set features Kainé and Nier Replicant costumes as well as the Emil Hat for the dragon. For series fans, an interview with Takamasa Shiba, producer for all three Drakengard games, is available below and goes into detail about the world, characters, and eight-year gap between titles. Also, to flesh out events leading up to D3, the first chapter of a prequel novella also released on the game’s official site.
The PC and Xbox One release of Titanfall is only a week away, with the 360 version following two weeks after, and to keep the momentum from the beta going, EA has released a new gameplay trailer. The nearly two minutes of ‘launch trailer’ footage features all of the gunning, mech piloting, and parkouring gamers got a taste of recently.
