Action-adventure RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance has been announced for PS4 and Xbox One. Developer Warhorse Studios has revealed that Microsoft and Sony have both approved the title for their respective systems, and to celebrate, the developers are currently livestreaming a gameplay session. The rewards have also been updated accordingly, with tiers featuring a digital copy being open to either platform, depending on backer preference, and boxed rewards now including console copies (with goodies). Beta access remains for Linux, Mac, and Windows only, but the release notes that console betas might be added later. The game’s current Kickstarter campaign has exceeded its original goal several times over.
An AMA on Reddit took place yesterday with the executive producer and creative director, which can be found here.
And finally, in the spirit of camaraderie, Wing Commander creator Chris Roberts has posted a blog entry stating that Cloud Imperium Games will share CryEngine development tips and technology with Warhorse, and vice versa, as they continue to work on Star Citizen.
A first-person, open world, realistic RPG that will take you to Medieval Europe in a time of great upheaval and strife. A humble, young blacksmith loses everything to war. As he tries to fulfill the dying wish of his father, Fate drags him into the thick of a conspiracy to save a kidnapped king and stop a bloody conflict. You will wander the world, fighting as a knight, lurking in the shadows as a rogue, or using the bard’s charm to persuade people to your cause. You will dive deep into a sweeping, epic, nonlinear story from Daniel Vávra, an award-winning designer from the Mafia series. Our unique, first-person combat system lets you wield sword or bow in both one-on-one skirmishes and large-scale battles. All of this – and more – brought to life beautifully with next-gen visuals delivered via Cryengine. [From Kickstarter]
