Role-playing fans looking forward to Tales of Symphonia Chronicles can now pre-order a digital copy for $39.99. Purchasing it early will net buyers the same system theme included with the Collector’s Edition to boot. Speaking of which, the $99.95 Collector’s Edition’s contests were finalized as well, with the set including five Chibi Kyun Chara character figurines, a novel that bridges the gap between the titles (Successors of Hope), a four-disc soundtrack, a custom theme, a steelbook case, and special packaging with artwork from ufotable. Namco Bandai also announced the production of an additional 3,000 units of the Collector’s Edition in order to meet pre-order demand.
Strider Hiryu will once again set out against the forces of evil next week when the Double Helix-developed Strider launches on Live, PSN, and Steam. The PS3 and PS4 versions will be first out of the gate on February 18, with the PC, 360, and Xbox One versions will follow the day after. Also announced is the inclusion of two new Challenge Modes to accompany Story Mode, the speed-run-style race Beacon Run and the wave-based trial Survival Mode. A global online leaderboard will track player stats across all modes.
Drakengard 3 has been officially dated for May 20. Square Enix is offering the game digitally over PSN but physically exclusively through their online store in a standard form and as a Collector’s Edition. Both versions come with pre-order extras, but which players get depends on when they put in their order. The pre-order system consists of three tiers, and only those who order before March 3 will be eligible for all of the extras. So far, the only known bonus is the Japanese voiceover DLC pack, which is part of the first tier along with two other bonuses. The next tier window is from March 4 to April 8, which include two bonuses, and the last is from April 8 until launch, which includes one bonus. The Collector’s Edition is limited to 5,000 copies and includes the game, a novella, a soundtrack CD sampler, a poster, and three pieces of DLC. The packs include a new prequel mission as Zero’s sister, One; the Giant Baby Hat item for the dragon; and a costume based off the original Drakengard’s Caim.
