Creative Assembly has released a beta version of their new Assembly Kit for Total War: Rome II. The suite of mod tools is a free download from Steam’s Tools section, and has been designed to allow for easier modification of Rome II’s databases as well as graphical assets—animations, models, textures—and initial campaign starting positions. The download comes packed with example data, including animation sets and soldiers, as well as the game’s entire database backend. Completed mods can then be uploaded to Steam’s Workshop, and are subsequently available for download from the game’s launcher. The release noted that there are already over a thousand mods.
