Court is back in session! The intrepid digital attorney Phoenix Wright has returned to the side of lady justice in a new case to convict the culprit behind the destruction of the courthouse. The download-only release, available on eShop, picks up eight years after the previous Ace Attorney title, as Phoenix returns to form investigating crime scenes, examining evidence, cross examining witnesses, and now, with the help of newcomer Athena Cykes, psychoanalyzing witnesses.
It looks as if Aveline will have a busy new year. Ubisoft has announced that the console and PC version of Assassin’s Creed Liberation will be released on January 14 for PS3 and on January 15 for 360 and PC. The download-only release will feature assassin Aveline’s original adventure, set prior to the American Revolution, which found her using machetes, whips, and poison darts to take down her prey throughout New Orleans and even Mayan ruins. This new version will feature upgraded visuals—a comparison below shows a scene from it next to the same from the PS Vita original—and be released at $19.99. A discount of $5 was also announced for owners of Black Flag’s Season Pass.
Indie developer BetaDwarf’s latest action RPG Forced has hit Steam for Mac, Linux, and Windows PC. In an arena with up to four players or solo in a single-player campaign, players will be able to choose one of four distinct gladiators to battle waves of enemies and navigate trap- and puzzle-filled arenas. Players can also mark their targets, allowing them to later consume the marks to activate skills or deal more damage.
Ninja Theory’s post-apocalyptic action-adventure title Enslaved: Odyssey to the West Premium Edition is now available online for PC and PS3. Available on PSN and Steam, Premium Edition includes the base game along with Pigsy’s Perfect 10 DLC and several extra skins (Classic Monkey, Ninja Monkey, and Sexy Trip). The PC debut also features support for Big Picture Mode, Cloud Saves, and Steam Achievements.
The Atelier series will continue its item-crafting ways next year with Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky. According to publisher Tecmo Koei, the Gust-developed RPG and follow-up to Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk will be available for PS3 on March 11. Atelier Escha & Logy will allow players to control either character in two connected storylines, with Escha’s tale being a more traditional Atelier offering, with plenty of alchemy and assignments, and Logy’s focused on action and exploration.
