Nintendo announces new 3D-less portable, Nintendo 2DS

Nintendo has introduced a new handheld to its growing portable family, the Nintendo 2DS. An altered version of the 3DS, the upcoming redesigned unit features a single, unhinged body with two screens but without the ability to display 3D. The kid-friendly system will play 3DS and DS titles, and is scheduled to launch on October 12 for $129.99. For gamers looking to try it out, Nintendo will be holding hands-on events at Simon Malls from October to November 3.

For 3DS gamers wondering what’s on the horizon, both The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Mario Party: Island Tour are scheduled to launch on November 22 for $39.99. A list of upcoming third-party titles can be found below.
