4A Games is preparing to send Linux and Mac gamers into the mutant-infested world of post-apocalyptic Russia with Metro: Last Light. Publisher Deep Silver has announced that a Mac version is near completion, scheduled for release on September 10, and that a Linux version is currently on track for launch later this year. Both versions will support the same DLC as the console and Windows versions, as well as Steam Play, which means that owners of any Steam version will find the latest releases automatically added to their library. The Season Pass, the Faction Pack, and the Tower Pack will be available at launch for the Mac version, and the remaining two packs, Developer and Chronicles, will launch simultaneously with the other versions.
“The Mac and Linux versions of Metro: Last Light are further testimony to the power and flexibility of the 4A Engine,” said Oles Shishkovstov, Chief Technical Officer at 4A Games. “Development was handled in house by 4A games, and we are very happy with the results. We hope that Mac and Linux gamers will appreciate our efforts to create the best possible version for their machines.”
