Atlus has announced the release of the latest in long-running, ever-expanding Shin Megami Tensei series, Shin Megami Tensei IV. As a samurai of the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado, players must take up their blade (and gun) and investigate the recent outbreak of demon attacks. During their journey, countless demons will be fused, summoned, and crushed. For those wanting some extras, all launch copies come in a limited set that includes a slip cover, a 176-page strategy and design book, and a music CD with tracks from throughout the series.
Three download content drops have also launched. One is a free download that allows players to alter the protagonist’s hairstyle. The second is free for the first month after launch, after which time it goes up to $.99, and includes White Samurai Apparel, to help new players get a leg up in the early areas of the game. Lastly, there is a map pack for $1.99 that will help players to gain experience when starting out.
