More good news for Tales fans today. Following last month’s announcement that Tales of Symphonia Chronicles will be launching next year in North America, Namco Bandai has revealed that they will also be localizing and publishing Tales of Xillia 2. Tales of Xillia is just over a month out, and its sequel is scheduled to launch on our side of the pond next year. The follow-up takes place a year after Tales of Xillia, with players helping aspiring cook Ludger Kresnik make his way through a dangerous journey alongside a new acquaintance, Elle Marta. Choice will be a major factor in the game, with players making key choices that will decide which path Ludger takes in a branching storyline.
The release also noted that the combat system will be augmented by two new systems: Weapon Swap and Cross Dual Raid Linear Motion Battle System. Weapon Swap will allow Ludger to instantly swap between dual blades, dual pistols, and a sledgehammer. Cross Dual Raid Linear Motion Battle System will allow players to call in allies to support the active party member, allowing them to perform unique linked artes against enemies.
Tales of Xillia 2 is scheduled to launch in 2014 for PS3. Gamers who have a save file from both Tales of Graces f and Tales of Xillia will be able to access exclusive bonus items in Xillia 2. Tales of Xillia will be available on August 6 for PS3.
