Atlus and developer Old School Games are prepping a release for R.I.P.D.: The Game, a tie-in to the upcoming film from Universal, R.I.P.D. (Rest in Peace Department). The supernatural action-adventure title will be a download-only release for 360, PC, and PS3. Players, solo or with a friend via co-op, will take on the role of two lawmen, played by Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds in the film, who must protect the living from violent souls in the otherworld. The game will include an in-game betting system (e.g., who can live the longest, who captures the most enemies) as well as weapons, enemies, and locales from the film.

R.I.P.D.: The Game will be available on July 16-17 for $9.99/800 MS Points on Live for 360, PSN for PS3, and Steam for PS3. The film will hit theaters on July 19.
