Square Enix is expanding their presence in the mobile and tablet market with a new entry in the Deus Ex series. The Fall, a sequel to the Random House novel Deus Ex: Icarus Effect, follows ex-SAS soldier Ben Saxon as he investigates a global conspiracy by the world’s most powerful corporations to control the drug supply needed by augmented humans. During his search for the truth, he will find himself at odds with company henchmen and his former employer, the private military contractor known as the Tyrants. It’s never easy.
Currently in development at Square Enix Mobile, with assistance from the Human Revolution team and N-Fusion, Deus Ex follows Final Fantasy and Parasite Eve in the studio’s push into the mobile space.
The initial installment of Deus Ex: The Fall will launch this summer for $6.99. Android specifics will be announced at a later date, but the iOS line-up has been revealed: iPad 2, iPhone 4S, and iPod Touch 5. E3 attendees will be able to try The Fall at Square Enix’s booth in South Hall (#1647).
