Payday 2, the sequel to 2011’s bank-heist-themed shooter Payday: The Heist, will be available in retail for 360 and PS3. The original was published by Sony Online and available online for PC and PS3, but the sequel’s publisher, 505 Games, announced today that it is expanding the series to include a physical release for the console versions, in addition to a digital release for PC.
After months of stress testing, CCP Games’ free-to-play MMOFPS Dust 154 has transitioned from open beta to final release. The PS3 exclusive links ground-based warfare with the space-based combat of its PC MMORPG counterpart Eve Online to form a fully integrated multi-system universe known as New Eden. CCP plans to release its first update in June, followed by several “major releases” throughout the rest of the year.
Bethesda has released 10-plus new screens for MachineGames’ upcoming Wolfenstein reboot, Wolfenstein: The New Order. Announced last week, The New Order takes place in an alternate timeline and tasks players with toppling the Nazi regime in 1960, over a decade after their victory in the Second World War.
It’s time to go back into the tunnels. Deep Silver and 4A Games’ post-apocalyptic first-person shooter Metro: Last Light is now available for 360, PC, and PS3. The follow-up to 2010’s Metro 2033, Last Light once again drives players into Moscow’s underground as mankind attempts to survive after a nuclear war has left the topside a radiated wasteland. The Metro system is home to numerous factions who have set up shop throughout the various hubs, battling roaming mutants and trying to find a mysterious doomsday weapon. As Artyom, players must navigate the chaos as they help to prevent a civil war.
