Word from Capcom HQ is that there are some monsters that need to be hunted. And then skinned, deboned, and made into vests and other accoutrement. Fans looking to get back into action will be able to do some from their living room or on the go, as both the 3DS and Wii U versions of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate are now available in stores and through eShop. Owners of Tri looking to upgrade will find 38 new monsters, new stages, thousands of new pieces of equipment, and hundreds of new quests.
Both versions support multiplayer, with 3DS version allowing up to four players in local multiplayer and the Wii U version allowing for parties of up to four online. A Packet Relay Tool is also available separately that will allow players to use their Wii U hardware to play online with their 3DS. For gamers who pick up both versions, save files can be swapped between the two for continuous play.
In addition to free weekly downloadable quests, Capcom also has an update planned for April that will add cross-region functionality and support for direct play on the GamePad.
