Other elements from the series, from locations to ailments, are also featured.
It’s been a while in the making, but Aliens: Colonial Marines has finally hit store shelves for 360, PC, and PS3. The xenomorphified first-person shooter is considered franchise canon, which means that what happens in Colonial Marines has a direct impact on the Aliens universe, overshadowing years of graphic novels, games, and films. In addition to the campaign, multiplayer is also supported with four versus modes: Escape, Extermination, Survivor, and Team Deathmatch. Word has been pretty spotty on this one, so you might want to Redbox it first.
After a harrowing wait, the PlayStation 3 has received its first round of Skyrim DLC today with the launch of Dragonborn. Adventurers can explore the island of Solstheim, braving its dungeons and equally dangerous wilderness, as well as meet its many inhabitants (and slay its many monsters) for $9.99—a launch-week promo discount of 50%. The other two drops, Hearthfire and Dawnguard, will be available this month as well, with Hearthfire launching on 19 and Dawnguard on 26.
Treyarch’s latest DLC pack for Black Ops II, Revolution, will be available for PC and PS3 on February 28. The drop, detailed below, includes four maps for standard multiplayer, one map for Zombies, the new Turned mode for Zombies, which has players shambling around as the undead, and a new weapon, the Peacekeeper SMG.
NIS has launched a companion app in anticipation of the release of the series’ next entry, Victory. Hyperdimension Neptunia The App features Gamindustri guardians Neptune and Noire as interactive characters as well as alarms and a calendar.
