The legions of Rome might be on the march, but that doesn’t mean the Shogun gets a rest. Creative Assembly has launched two new downloads for Shogun 2 today, a one-gig-plus patch chock-full of fixes and tweaks as well as a new DLC drop, the Otomo Clan Pack.
The update, detailed here, includes a number of unit-balancing tweaks, bug fixes, and optimizations to reduce load time (from 20-40%) and install footprints (up to 6.6GB, 22.4%). The $4.99 DLC pack adds the Otomo Clan, whose early interactions with the Portuguese led them to adopt Christianity and firearms early, which means they not only get the Master Gunners trait but also four new land units, including the matchlock-rifle- and sword-wielding Portugese Tercos, a new naval unit, and new building subchains that add hospitals and seminaries.
