Skylanders Giants invading retail this Sunday
Gamers of all ages have made Toys for Bob’s Skylanders a hit, and for those who’ve been waiting for a new adventure, the wait is almost over. Activision has announced that the savior of many a parent’s sanity will return this Sunday with Skylanders Giants. The sequel will once again pit portal masters against the nefarious and stubbornly resilient Portal Master Kaos. Joining the original crew, who carry over all stats and customizations, are 16 new characters, including eight double-sized Giant Skylanders. The new Wow Pow system adds a new upgrade path for new and old Skylander alike—looks like it’s time to break out Trigger Happy.

Mugen Souls ships to retail for PS3
NIS America’s latest role-playing game Mugen Souls has shipped to retail for PS3. The Compile Heart-developed adventure features a journey spanning seven worlds, filled with turn-based combat set on free-roaming battle maps, and with an emphasis on character customization. Enemies can be killed with linked attacks or subdued with Moe Kill to serve as peons, while your allies can assigned to take up arms as one of several job classes.

Anarchy Reigns to bring the pain to 360 and PS3 this January
PlatinumGames is busy these days. In addition to working on Bayonetta 2 and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, the studio is still hard at work on the post-apocalyptic brawler Anarchy Reigns. It’s looking like their workload will be lightening shortly, though, as Sega has announced that the multiplayer-centric title will be launching on January 8 for PS3 and January 11 for 360.
