Things are about to get weird(er). Rising Star Games plans to send Special Agent Francis York Morgan back into the field next year in Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut for PS3. The update to the 2010 surreal psychological horror title will feature updated visuals, “reworked” controls, a new scenario from game director Swery, and support for upcoming downloadable content. Formerly a 360 exclusive, PS3 gamers will finally get a chance to experience the most Twin Peaks-ish game on the market.

Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2013.

Playing as special agent Francis York Morgan (just call him York — everyone else does), players must investigate the brutal murder of a young local beauty. Amidst the backdrop of soaring mountains and a small American town, York must solve the mystery of the Red Seed Murders and stay alive in a place where supernatural creatures and a killer seek to end his investigation.
