Kalypso is looking to entice entrepreneurial swashbucklers to put down some of their clams (ha!) early with new pre-order incentives for Port Royale 3: Pirates and Merchants. The upcoming high-seas adventure and trade sim will come with up to two bonus DLC packs for those who go for a boxed copy.

Amazon is offering a building pack that includes a pirate palace, temple, and warehouse. The other drop, the Adventure Pack, includes an additional three builders, different from those in the Amazon bonus, and is available to everyone who pre-orders. In order to receive a download code, gamers need to send a scanned or photographed copy of their purchase receipt to bonuscontent@kalypsomedia.com by October 9, 2012. Those who go through Amazon will receive both packs and access to all six buildings.

Port Royale 3: Pirates and Merchants is set to launch on October 9 for PC. Set in the 17th century, players will take on the role of either an adventurer or a trader, building a Caribbean empire by raiding, looting, and plundering rival ships and cities. There are over 16 different ship types, 60-plus different cities, and a dynamic trade system that adjusts for shifting supply and demand.
