Mass Effect 3 to get new multiplayer DLC next week, Retaliation
BioWare has announced that Mass Effect 3′s largest multiplayer DLC pack to date will launch on October 9 for 360, PC, and PS3—for free. Retaliation, detailed below, adds new map hazards, a new challenge system that rewards accomplishments, and the Collectors as a playable faction.

Silent Hill: Book of Memories demo launches on PSN
PS Vita owners looking to take a trip to Silent Hill are getting their chance today with the launch of a new demo of the upcoming Silent Hill: Book of Memories. Available over PSN, the demo features the first two zones of the game and access to a handful of the weapons and power-ups, as well as a chance to experience some of the light role-playing elements. The full version will feature a new storyline and support for online multiplayer.

Dark Elves to feature in Might and Magic Heroes VI expansion
Might and Magic Heroes VI will be receiving a new standalone expansion next spring. The untitled release will center on the Dark Elves, leaders of the Dungeon faction, and their early years, said to be “a time of decadence and desperation.” The campaign begins after the elves’ migration from their ancestral homelands for a hidden city, led by the hero Raelag, to serve as assassins for the Faceless. The story will not only follow the faction into new areas of Ashan but also delve into their history.

Kalypso is looking to entice entrepreneurial swashbucklers to put down some of their clams (ha!) early with new pre-order incentives for Port Royale 3: Pirates and Merchants. The upcoming high-seas adventure and trade sim will come with up to two bonus DLC packs for those who go for a boxed copy.

Of Orcs and Men shows dynamics of teamwork in new trailer
Orc warrior Arkail and Styx the Goblin’s unique relationship is highlighted in the latest trailer for Of Orcs and Men. Arkail provides the muscle of the group while Styx compensates for his smaller stature with quick wits and fast feet, but both are needed for the requisite post-pummel high-five. I can only assume there will be plenty of … okay, probably low-fives … during their quest to assassinate the Emperor of Mankind. Also, I really like that this is titled “Buddy Trailer”.
