The Spiders and Cyanide co-developed action-RPG Of Orcs and Men is showing off more goods today with five new shots. The latest batch features the dynamic duo of Orc warrior Arkail and Styx the Goblin—hey, they have names now—battling the forces of man and beast on their quest to assassinate the Emperor.
Nintendo has detailed the North American launch of the Wii U today. The system will be available on November 18 in two versions, the $299.99 Basic Set and the $349.99 Deluxe Set. A full list of the 50-plus launch-window titles was also provided.
Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be available in March for 3DS and Wii U. Both versions will use touch-screen controls to access books, weapons, maps, and mini-games. The 3DS version will support up to four players through local play, as well as StreetPass for sending guild cards, and Wii U owners will be able to play alongside 3DS players using a local wireless connection. Gamers who own both versions will be able to swap save files between the systems.
THQ has confirmed that Vigil Games’ action-adventure title Darksiders II will be available at launch for Wii U. To sweeten the deal, the game will have on-disc additional content, including the DLC expansion Argul’s Tomb and all of the pre-order bonuses from the other versions. The bonus content is estimated to add around five hours of gameplay. The new GamePad will be used to display the map and objectives, as well as access the inventory, while the gyro feature will allow players to evade, navigate, and manipulate objects.
343 Industries has rolled out a new video documentary for Halo 4 titled “Making of ‘Halo 4’ – Return of the Forerunners.” The behind-the-scenes footage covers the new class of Forerunner that serves as the protagonists, the Prometheans. Also covered in the 10-minute video is concept art and development footage as well as commentary from the creative director, executive producer, lead concept artist, and others.
Shortly after passing the two-week mark, NCsoft has announced that ArenaNet’s latest MMO Guild Wars 2 has sold over 2 million units. Retail and first-party sales were temporarily halted due to demand surpassing server load, and since being reinstated, not only has the milestone been surpassed, but according to NCsoft, the game now “regularly” hosts over 400,000 players during peak hours.
