Total War: Shogun 2 Assembly Kit now on Steam
The Creative Assembly has released a suite of tools for modders looking to modify the Shogun 2 line. The Total War: Shogun 2 Assembly Kit includes an updated Battle Map Editor (TEd) with Steam Workshop integration and ability to create scripted single-player historical battles, as well as a built-in Mod Manager, Database Visual Editor, data-processing tool, and more. The kit, detailed below, is compatible with the original game as well as all add-ons and expansions.

Hitman: Absolution’s Contracts Mode detailed in playthrough video
It’s not easy being a virtual assassin—alliances shift, guns jam, people run. So to help everyone get up to speed on what’s in store in Hitman: Absolution, Square Enix and I/O have released a new 18-minute playthrough video, with developer commentary, of the new Contracts Mode. In Contracts, players create their own custom hits by tweaking level, rules, and targets, and then share them online for others to try.

Zone of the Enders HD Collection to get Limited Edition release
Konami has announced that the upcoming Zone of the Enders HD Collection will be available as a Limited Edition. The 360, PS3 set includes HD remastered versions of Zone of the Enders and Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner, the latter being the special European release, as well as a demo of Platinum Games’ Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. The Limited Edition will feature special metallic packaging, an import soundtrack packed with remixed songs from the series, and a 100-page art book with new work from Yoji Shinkawa.

Jagged Alliance: Crossfire ships to retail, launches online
The mercenaries are heading back into the fire today with the launch of Jagged Alliance: Crossfire, the standalone expansion to Back in Action. After liberating Arulco, your motley crew of hired guns is being called to aid the nation of Khanpaa against another group of mercenaries who have seized power and are terrorizing the populace. This new outing features 10 new mercenaries, 10 new maps, a new 15-plus-hour campaign, and new weapons and gear that are both outdated and in short supply.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II Zombies reveal trailer shambles online
Activision has released a new trailer showing some footage from Black Ops II’s Zombies mode. In addition, it was also announced that gamers who pre-order the Hardened Edition or Care Package will receive an exclusive Nuketown Zombies map.

Assassin’s Creed: Ezio Trilogy announced for PS3
Collections seem to be a hit this week, with the launch of Capcom’s Marvel vs. Capcom Origins and announcement of BioWare’s Mass Effect Trilogy being joined by word from Ubisoft about the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Ezio Trilogy. The PS3 exclusive will launch on November 13 for $39.99 and include Assassin’s Creed II with DLC, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations. The single-disc set will follow shortly after everyone wraps up Assassin’s Creed III, set to launch on October 30.

Mass Effect Trilogy to kick off N7 Day festivities, bring original to PS3
EA has announced that they will be inaugurating the first annual N7 Day, a celebration of all things Mass Effect, with a new collection for 360, PC, and PS3. The release of Mass Effect Trilogy, available November 6 for $59.99, will not only be the first of many N7 Day events, but it also marks the first time that the original Mass Effect will be available for PS3. Additionally, for PS3 gamers who already own the second and third titles, the original will be available on PSN.

Marvel vs. Capcom Origins now available on Live, PSN
Capcom’s two-in-one set Marvel vs. Capcom Origins has launched on Live Arcade and PSN. The 1200 MS Point/$14.99 release includes two of the series’ earliest entries, Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes. Touted as being arcade perfect, the versions included in the collection also feature eight-player lobbies and spectator mode, replay saving, HD upgrades, and dynamic challenges.
