The Testament of Sherlock Holmes to launch at lower price
With times as tough as they are, even Holmes is willing to cut clients a break. Atlus has announced that their upcoming sleuthtastic adventure title, The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, will launch at a reduced price of $39.99. Of note is that the PC version, from Frogwares, will also be available for $39.99.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII announced for 360, PS3
Square Enix has announced that Lightning’s journey is coming to an end next year with the release of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. Not much else was mentioned, only that Lightning Returns will feature a new story, cast of characters, and improved mechanics. Some concept art was also released.

Plants vs. Zombies Pinball launching next week as DLC
Zombies are invading Zen Pinball 2 and Pinball FX2 next week. Well, zombies and plants. Zen Studios has announced that Plants vs. Zombies Pinball is set to launch as DLC for Zen Pinball 2 for PS3 and Vita and for Pinball FX2 for 360.

Final Fantasy Dimensions launches on App Store with free Prologue
Square Enix is harkening back to Final Fantasy’s 8- and 16-bit days today with the launch of Final Fantasy Dimensions for iOS. The first chapter in the new episodic saga, Prologue, is a free download that introduces players to the tale of the Avalonian Empire’s quest for peace and the world’s subsequent descent into darkness. Dimension features the return of job-based classes, as well as a sliding control pad and new work from composer Naoshi Mizuta.

Command & Conquer The Ultimate Collection announced for PC
Command & Conquer turns 17 this year, and to celebrate, EA has announced a new compilation: The Ultimate Collection. The $49.99 17-game set includes the base games and all expansions and sequels for the original Command & Conquer line, Red Alert, Renegade, and Generals. All titles will be updated for Windows 7 and Vista.

PC version of Gotham City Imposters now free-to-play from Steam
Another joins the free-to-play ranks today. Warner Bros. has announced that the PC version of Monolith Production’s team-based shooter Gotham City Imposters can now be downloaded for free from Steam. The original game, which features up to a dozen players battling it out over eight Batman-themed maps and four modes, are accessible, as well as all of the new weapons, mascots, and maps that were added via post-launch DLC.

Kalypso set to unleash terror in Italy next month with Anna
Kalypso Media has announced that their digital arm will be releasing Dreampainters’ Anna, a new first-person horror-themed adventure title for the Mac and PC. Slated to launch on September 21 for $9.99, Anna centers around the titular character’s quest to uncover her past by making her way through a series of physics-based environmental puzzles strewn about an abandoned sawmill set in the Italian countryside.

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Ninostarter campaign extended
In honor of PAX, Namco Bandai has extended their Ninostarter campaign for the upcoming Level-5 and Studio Ghibli co-developed role-playing game, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. The campaign, now scheduled to end on September 3, is a tiered reward-based system in which gamers are incentivized to preorder the premium Wizard’s Edition for additional bonus items: the more pre-orders the game receives, the more extras that are added to the set. The first goal has already been met, netting players the prints pictured below, while progress for the second goal has surpassed 80%.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD now available for PS3
The Robomodo-updated version of Neversoft’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD, has launched on PSN. Already available on Live Arcade, and hitting Steam for PC next month, THPS HD includes seven levels, eight skaters, four online multiplayer modes, new objectives, and Facebook integration to share scores.
