One of Capcom’s lesser-known fighters, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, previously released in arcades and for the Dreamcast, will be receiving the HD treatment soon with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure HD Ver. for the 360 and PS3. As with the recently announced Okami HD, this will be a download-only title, available on PSN on August 21 for $19.99 and on Live Arcade on August 22 for 1600 MS Points.

The HD version will include updated visuals, an SD Mode for the original pixel art, a replay mode, and an online component that will feature eight-player lobbies. Players will also be able to choose opponents based on location, connection speed, and skill, with earned battle points increasing leaderboard rank.

In JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure HD Ver. the story centers around the powerful Joestar family, including well known hero Jotaro Kujo. Players will be able to unleash powerful super combos and perform special attacks with their characters by executing their supernatural powers, known as Stands. Each character’s Stand appears in-game just as they did in the manga, offering another strategic layer of fighting and unique gameplay. For example, players can use Jotaro’s Stand, ‘Star Platinum’ to perform ‘Blazing Fist’ and attack enemies together with Jotaro, causing massive damage to the opponent.
