Square Enix will be launching a new rhythm-based action game this summer for Android and iOS devices, Demons’ Score. As the possessed heroine Serenity, players must battle all matter of hellish demons (with a touch of flair) to aid her in tracking down her missing father.
Powered by Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3, Demons’ Score looks to seamlessly fuse music and combat by having players time attacks with the music tracks, which sounds like a similar but scaled-down approach to the upcoming 3DS RPG Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. The soundtrack includes work from Kohei Tanaka (Sakura Wars) and Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts).
The iOS version will be available for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. The Android version will be optimized for Nvidia Tegra 3 processors, and users can check for it to be featured in TegraZone.
(Correction: On 6/11 to reflect Kohei Tanaka’s work on Sakura Wars and not, as previously reported, Tekken and Taiko Drum Master.)
