The ghosts are back today with the release of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier for the 360 and PS3. Developed by a triumvirate of Ubisoft studios—Paris, Red Storm, and Romania—Future Soldier once against puts players in the boots of a globetrotting special ops soldier whose squad finds itself in the world’s most dangerous hotspots. The troops have access to an arsenal of high-tech gadgetry and weaponry, as well as downloadable player-customized weapons for those moments when the standard assault rifle just won’t do.

Launching alongside Future Soldier is the Ghost Recon Network. The free companion service is accessible from a variety of devices, including smartphones and browsers, and allows for players to track their progress and their friends’ activities throughout Future Solider and other upcoming Ghost Recon titles. An Android and iOS app is also available. And for those looking to unlock some extra items, the Facebook game Ghost Recon Commander will reward sufficiently skilled tacticians with exclusive weapons, weapon skins, and bonuses for Future Soldier.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be available for PC on June 12.
