inXile to enlist Obsidian if Wasteland 2 drive surpasses $2.1 million
Role-playing fans still on the fence about chipping in towards the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter campaign might find themselves reaching for their wallets after the latest bit of news from inXile. According to the studio, if the campaign reaches $2,100,000, then Chris Avellone, chief creative officer of Obsidian Entertainment, will work directly with the design team. In addition, Obsidian as a company will also chip in by providing expertise and development tools.

Rayman Origins launches for PC
After making the console and handheld rounds, Rayman Origins is now available for PC. The download-only release has launched on Steam, Ubishop, and other digital outlets for $29.99.

Anomaly Warzone Earth advances onto Live Arcade next month
11 bit studios’ Anomaly Warzone Earth, a ‘reverse tower defense’ title that has already found a home on iOS, Mac and PC, is scheduled to launch on Live Arcade on April 6. The studio has also announced that it will cost 800 MS Points for players to be able to fight back the alien invasion from the comfort of their sofa. The iOS release has done well since launch, winning the Apple Design Award and Runner-Up for Game of the Year on the Mac App Store.

Hegemony Gold: Wars of Ancient Greece makes its way to Steam
Longbow Games’ excellent strategy title Hegemony Gold: Wars of Ancient Greece is now available on Steam. The $19.99 download ($9.99 if you are upgrading to Gold) includes three campaigns and a sandbox mode. Gamers dreaming of a glorious Macedonian empire can play The Rise of Philip to set the groundwork as Philip of Macedon. The famous Peloponnesian War is also represented, with the two remaining campaigns, The Archidamian War and The Ionian War, pitting players against Sparta as Athens and then against Athens as Sparta.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron dated, gameplay trailer released
Activision has released a new trailer for High Moon Studios’ Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. With the end of Cybertron nearing, the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out as the remaining survivors abandon their homeworld. Some of the new characters include Grimlock, complete with T-Rex form (woo!), and the Combaticons, along with their combined Bruticus form.

Blades of Time demo now available on Live, PSN
A new demo has launched on Live and PSN for Konami and Gaijin Entertainment’s recently released hack-and-slash action title Blades of Time. The demo allows players to try out the game’s time-manipulating and cloning mechanics and a few of Ayumi’s melee and magic abilities as they guide the treasure hunter through puzzles and square off against enemies.

Rising Star releases new trailer for Cave shooter Akai Katana
Rising Star Games has released the first trailer for their inaugural North American release, Akai Katana. The upcoming Cave-developed shooter is set in a parallel world during a turning point in the Taisho period. After the discovery of a blood katana, the empire turned to human sacrifice in order to unlock its full power. The sacrifices have resulted in a rebellion, with the empire’s enemies taking to the skies in fighter planes and wielding their own powerful swords against the imperial forces. [Continue]
Gears of War 3 gets Forces of Nature DLC map pack
It’s time to grab some galoshes and a raincoat because Gears of War 3′s Forces of Nature DLC has hit Live Marketplace. The new pack includes five multiplayer maps: Aftermath, Artillery, Cover, Jacinto, and Raven Down. As the name indicates, each level has a weather theme, with Aftermath featuring a flooding city, tornado-force winds in Artillery, heavy fog in Cover, torrential rains and Imulsion contamination in Jacinto, and snow storms in Raven’s Down.

Capcom Digital Collection brings Live Arcade releases to retail
Capcom has released their boxed Live Arcade compilation, Capcom Digital Collection. The eight-game set includes 1942: Joint Strike, Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, Final Fight Double Impact, Flock!, Rocketmen: Axis of Evil including Rocketmen: It Came From Uranus expansion, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, and Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3. Each game includes all of their features, functionality, and of course, achievements.

Asura’s Wrath gets episode DLC, remaining DLC dated
The first round of DLC for Asura’s Wrath has hit PSN and will launch tomorrow on Live Marketplace. Today’s release includes Episode 11.5, an anime-inspired downloadable episode that bridges the gap between episodes 11 and 12 of the full game. The pack is going for 160 MS Points/$1.99. Another stylized episode is scheduled to launch next week, on April 3, for the same price.
