The final leg of Commander Shepard’s journey is nearing, and in what can only be described as a cruel joke on those with loved ones wanting a quiet Valentine’s Day, EA has announced that they will be releasing a demo for BioWare’s Mass Effect 3 on February 14. (I’m so sorry, dear—the galaxy needs me!)
The demo will include a portion of the single-player campaign as well as a preview of the new co-op multiplayer mode. The multiplayer component will actually be available on February 17, but it can be unlocked early if players have activated their Battlefield 3 online pass or through a few other unannounced methods. The 360 demo will also support full voice recognition functionality on Kinect.
Mass Effect 3 is set to launch on March 6 for the 360, PC, and PS3.
