The buildup to Capcom’s Street Fighter X Tekken continues today with a new batch of media, as well as the unveiling of six new combatants. The latest additions to the roster are split evenly between Street Fighter (Balrog, Juri, and Vega) and Tekken (Paul, Law, and Xiaoyu), striking a healthy balance.
Gaming’s most disheveled detective will be making his way through the slums of Brazil and back onto store shelves in May when Max Payne 3 launches on the 15 for the 360 and PS3 and on the 29 for the PC. Because the game was originally scheduled to be released in March, Rockstar has also announced that they have extended the deadline to pre-order the Special Edition to April 2. The SE comes with a 10″ Max Payne statue, original still life art print, bullet keychain, soundtrack, and two DLC packs: the Classic Multiplayer Character Pack and the Disorderly Conduct Multiplayer Weapons Pack.
Gears of War 3’s third DLC pack, Fenix Rising, is now available on Live Marketplace. The follow-up to RAAM’s Shadow includes five new Fenix-themed multiplayer maps, four character skins (Recruit Clayton, Thrashball Cole – Limited Edition, Savage Marauder, and Savage Kantus – Limited Edition), and a new experience system that allows for high-ranking players to “Re-up.” Re-upping allows players who reach level 100 to have their rank and experience reset in exchange for new wing and rank number colors, as well as an exclusive weapon skin. Players can re-up three times, though no other forms of progression, such as the TrueSkill rating, will be reset.
The Syndicate series is returning, and in more ways than one. For fans of the original, EA and Good Old Games have announced that Bullfrog’s original isometric strategy title, let’s call it Syndicate 1993, will be available on GOG’s download service this Thursday for $5.99. And for those eager to try out the new version, Starbreeze’s Syndicate 2012, a new four-player co-op demo will launch later this month for the 360 and PS3.
