Infinity Ward and crew are kicking off the new Content Season of Modern Warfare 3 later this month with two new multiplayer and Survival Mode maps for Call of Duty Elite members. Xbox Live members who subscribe to Elite will be able to download Liberation and Piazza on January 24, the first of at least 20 “content drops” for the ongoing nine-month-long season. Elite members playing on other platforms will be able to download the maps “at a later time.”

The monthly drops, co-developed with Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software, will run through September and include new Special Ops Missions, game modes, and more, with Elite members getting first dibs. The first three months will see five different drops, with Xbox Live leading the way. The third drop will take place in mid-February with two more in March. Each new drop is planned to be celebrated with contests and other special events. Non-Elite Live players will be able to grab the goods in March when the first drops go on sale as a collection.
