The Forerunner Saga continues with the release of Halo: Primordium
Greg Bear’s (Eon, The Forge of God) Forerunner Saga continues today with the release of Halo: Primordium, the second release in the ongoing series that delves deeper into the universe before the time of Master Chief. Published by Tor Books, Primordium follows Cryptum in further detailing the events leading up to the games. After the destruction of the Forerunner empire, two humans find themselves on a damaged Halo and in the sights of a being claiming to be the Last Precursor.

Scarygirl announced for PC, 360, and PS3
Square Enix will be expanding their catalog with a touch of print inspiration later this month when they launch the action-platformer Scarygirl. The download-only release, based on Nathan Jurevicius’ award-winning graphic novel and developed by TikGames, will be available on January 18 for Live Arcade, January 24 for PSN, and later this year for PC.

South Park: The Game finds sweet loot, new batch of screenshots
THQ has released some new shots from the upcoming South Park role-playing game from Fallout: New Vegas developer Obsidian, South Park: The Game. Scheduled to ship later this year, the latest out of the Matt Stone- and Trey Parker-helmed series will see the kids adventuring about the town, battling nefarious red-haired foes and hippies protected by the ancient and powerful amalgam of colors known as “tie-dye.”

Prototype 2 gets souped-up pre-order move from GameStop
A new GameStop-exclusive pre-order bonus has been announced for Prototype 2. The extra is an in-game addition this time around, an enhanced move for protagonist Sgt. James Heller. The curiously named Bio-Bomb Butt Kicker ability is a tweaked version of the regular viral-powered Bio-Bomb move that players will be able to unlock during the course of the game. The upgraded attack will allow Heller to drop-kick infected enemies across the map, causing them to crash into or fall down on and damage enemies.
