Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3’s free Heroes & Heralds DLC is now available for the 360 and PS3. The new mode, playable on and offline, pits the Heroes and Heralds factions against one another as the heroes battle Galactus’ heralds to save Earth from annihilation. Fighters are customizable through the use of Ability cards, which affect the combatants’ stats and powers with enhancements ranging from speed boosts to invisibility.
Ubisoft and Steam have teamed up to offer a discount on some of the studio’s biggest franchises, as well as on some of their best one-offs (might we recommend the excellent R.U.S.E.?). The limited-time sale knocks 33% off the standard price, while the 14-title Holiday Pack offers an even steeper discount of 75%. The sale is currently running and will end on January 2.
Remedy’s Alan Wake Live-exclusive spinoff, American Nightmare, will include a new arcade mode dubbed Fight till Dawn. The studio announced that the new mode will pit Wake against waves of enemies as he attempts to survive the night by tracking down safe havens and weapons to stave off chainsaw- and axe-wielding maniacs. Leaderboard support was also announced, allowing gamers to compare their survival efforts against fellow embattled novelists.
Sega is getting into the holiday spirit with a new sale on many of their download titles for iOS handhelds and PS3. The sale, which begins tomorrow and ends on January 3 for PSN and 9 on the App Store, includes many of their bigger titles for the year, such as Renegade Ops (down from $14.99 to $11.99), Daytona USA (down from $9.99 to $6.99), and Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I for iOS (down to $.99). Microsoft is also running a separate sale with Renegade Ops for 800 MS Points (from 1200) and After Burner Climax for 400 MS Points (from 800) from December 20 to January 2.
