Firefly Studios has followed up Stronghold 3′s recent stability patch, which is said to smooth things out by 70%, with a new feature-centric update. The latest patch includes an experimentation panel, which will allow builders to insert their castles in the Free Build mode to pit their garrison against a host of challenges, including armies of various sizes, random events, and a dynamic difficulty setting.
Other additions since launch include the ability to allow weak lords through single player, speed controls for peasants, King of the Hill multiplayer mode, and larger maps in the map creator.

“Although Stronghold 3 wasn’t designed with a skirmish mode in mind,” said Simon Bradbury, lead designer, “we have listened to what the fans have been saying, so beefed up the Free Build mode to give players lots more flexibility and the ability to have increasingly powerful invasions attack their castle.”
