Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure gets three new characters
Three new characters are available for some Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure action: Hex, Dino-Rang, and Wrecking Ball. The undead elemental Hex is said to be good at evading enemies with ranged attacks, and she also has a Wall of Bones upgrade. Dino-range is an earth elemental that uses boomerangs to attack while staying safe inside his Obsidian Armor. And finally, Wrecking Ball is a magic elemental who attacks with a Tongue Whap and Power Belch. Well, I think I know which one will be a hit with the younger crowd.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light on sale for iPhone, iPod touch
The iOS version of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is currently on sale. The iPhone, iPod touch action-adventure title is currently $0.99, down from $2.99, and will be so for the next four days. Similar to its console counterpart, Guardian of Light follows Lara Croft and her newfound ally, the guardian himself, on a quest that sees them making their way through trap-filled ruins, demons, and gun-toting criminals.

EverQuest II turns 7, goes free-to-play and gets new expansion
Some big news on the EverQuest II front today. The first, and most significant, bit is that EQII will follow DC Universe Online and go to a free-to-play model early next month. Dave Georgeson, franchise executive producer, goes into greater detail on the decision over at the official site. Sony also announced that a new expansion will launch early next month, titled Age of Discovery. The expansion is detailed below (for you front-page readers). EQII is also turning seven, and to celebrate, the folks at EverQuest2.com have launched a series of new features detailing the history of the franchise.

Rabbids Alive & Kicking available for 360, already at your window
The Rabbids are running amok again in Rabbids Alive & Kicking for the 360. In the $49.99, Kinect-supported mini-game collection, players will have to fight back the half-insane hell-raisers as they attempt to invade the real world.

Of Orcs and Men looking sharp in new screens
A new batch of (impressive) screenshots from Cyanide and Spiders’ upcoming role-playing game, Of Orcs and Men, landed in the inbox today. The 360, PC, and PS3 title is scheduled to declare war on Man in 2012.

Gotham City Impostors release date, beta announced
The Batman universe is getting plenty of attention these days. Batman: Arkham City recently launched for the 360 and PS3, is set to hit the PC later this month, and today, Warner Bros. has announced the release date for their upcoming first-person shooter Gotham City Impostors. The download-only title will launch on January 10 for the 360, PC, and PS3.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Collector’s Edition announced for 360, PS3
Square Enix has announced a retailer-limited collector’s edition of Final Fantasy XIII-2. Available only at Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop, the $79.99 set will include a four-disc soundtrack, a 20-page art book, and a hardcover case adorned with illustrations by Yoshitaka Amano. The premium edition will be available alongside the standard version on January 31 for the 360 and PS3.
