PlayStation 3 owners finally get a chance to suit up and take to the skies in both World Wars with Air Conflicts: Secret Wars. In addition to the single-player mode, comprised of 49 missions over seven campaigns spread out across Europe and North Africa, and three multiplayer modes, the PS3 version also includes 3D support and PlayStation Move motion controller functionality. Mind the Messerschmitts, men!
After months of teasing eager spelunkers, NIS has shipped Cave Story 3D for the 3DS. The action side-scroller has made it past a slight delay and is now on its way to store shelves. The updated version of the PC freeware superstar includes new modes, such as Sprite Mode and, for a more traditional feel, 2D Mode.
Battlefield 3’s first expansion, Back to Karkand, will be coming in hot this December with—deep breathe—three new maps, five new dog tags, three new vehicles, including the F-35B STOVL jet fighter, ten new weapons, and a new persistence system. To get everyone ready to revisit Wake Island, Gulf of Oman, and Sharqi Peninsula, EA will be periodically sending out some new shots, a few of which hit today.
It’s time to grab your fedora and revolver and beat the streets, rookie, L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition is now available for PC. The $49.99 set includes the original game and all Arson, Traffic, and Vice case DLC released to date: Nicholson Electroplating, Reefer Madness, The Consul’s Car, The Naked City, and A Slip of the Tongue. Developer Rockstar Leeds has also upped the resolution and graphical detail for the PC version, as well as add support for Nvidia 3D Vision and gamepads.
Chrono Cross, the sorta-but-not-quite-sequel to Chrono Trigger, is now available on the PS Network for the PS3 and PSP. The original was released in 2000 for the PlayStation and features the adventures of Serge, a young man who finds himself battling his way through parallel worlds.
After shattering pre-order records, including those set by its predecessors, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is now on store shelves. Co-developed by Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games, Modern Warfare 3 is a continuation of 2009’s Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops being something of a side story, which sees the world edging towards World War III. While the single-player campaign continues the series’ thematic tradition of all-out war with a new Survival Mode, multiplayer is being beefed up with a revamped pointstreak system, new Strike Packages, new weapons, new equipment, and new modes, including Kill Confirmed.
Batman’s been pummeling heads on the 360 and PS3 for a few days now, and shortly, PC gamers will also get the chance to crush Arkham’s baddies. Warner Bros. has announced that the Games for Windows PC version of Batman: Arkham City will hit store shelves on November 22.
