Today’s been quite the day for Capcom’s upcoming crossover fighter Street Fighter X Tekken. Producer Yoshinori Ono revealed all sorts of tidbits at the New York Comic-Con, including the March 6 release date, news that a PC version has entered development, as well as info about the Special Edition and new Gem System. Capcom also released several new media items, including teasers and screenshots.
The Special Edition will include a build-it-yourself arcade cabinet (~5″ tall), exclusive prequel comic from Udon, and 45 gems (36 comprised of all pre-order packs and an exclusive pack), plus nine exclusive gems only available with Special Edition pre-orders. The gems will be used as part of “an all-new customizable power-up system” by modifying character stats and abilities. As noted, several retailers will also be offering gem pre-order bonuses.
Not much was said about the PC or Vita versions, aside from the PC version being confirmed, only that additional details will be revealed in the future.
