Frank West is a busy man these days. His latest brush with the undead, Dead Rising 2: Off The Record, was released earlier this week, and now gaming’s most intrepid photojournalist will find himself with a new ally in his portable adventures.
Grand Theft Auto III is about to turn 10. Eesh – anyone else feeling old now? On October 22, the one that kicked the series into high gear will be hitting the double digits, and to celebrate, Rockstar has announced that they will be launching GTA3 for several iOS and Android mobile devices as well as sell a limited-edition action figure of Claude. The $149.99 figure can be pre-ordered through the Rockstar Warehouse, and the figure, which sports his classic getup of cargo paints and bomber jacket, is set to ship out on October 20. Claude will come packing a bat, knife, grenades, pistol, sniper rifle, and assault rifle.
Objection! The most dogged attorney in the industry, Phoenix Wright, will be joining the roster of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Wright won’t be entering the fray alone, however, as Marvel hero Nova will also be entering the brawl. Both represent just two of the dozen new fighters that will be battling alongside and against the original’s lineup.
After being hit with a slight delay, Sony Online’s squad-based first-person shooter Payday: The Heist is back on track. The new launch date is right around the corner, too: October 18. The PSN-only release will pit a four-man crew of bank robbers against six dynamic heist scenarios. Alone or with friends, players will be able to take hostages, share ammo and med kits, and face off against both the FBI and SWAT.
To the field of battle! Black Hole Entertainment’s entry in the long-running turn-based strategy series Heroes of Might and Magic is now available for the PC. Might & Magic Heroes VI is a prequel to Heroes V, following a family of heroes as they fight for survival as Angels scheme to end an ongoing war. Heroes VI also serves as a reboot to the franchise, updating the original release with locations and creatures from the World of Ashan as well as adding a new Reputation System to customize heroes.
