Sony has kicked off the “Only On PlayStation Network” program today, which includes a discount on PSN titles as well as a packed release schedule. Every Tuesday for the month of October, PSN users will be able to download new titles and DLC, including indie Pub Fund’ers Eufloria and Okabu. As an added bonus, PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive a 20% discount during the program’s launch week, and non-Plus users will get $10 in store credit when they spend $60 on anything from games and add-ons to TV shows and Plus/Music Unlimited subscriptions throughout the month. A handful of PS2 titles were also added to kick things off: God Hand, GrimGrimoire, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, Odin Sphere, and Ring of Red.
Spiderweb Software, developer of the Geneforge series, has lowered their store prices by at least 20%. The studio is also knocking an additional 10% off for the month of October, which brings both Avadon: The Black Fortress or Avernum 6 to $18 apiece. For gamers wanting to try their hands at some indie RPG action before buying, the company’s page hosts several demos.
Sony Online’s PC and PSN squad-based first-person shooter Payday: The Heist has been slightly delayed. Originally scheduled to launch on October 4, Sony has announced that The Heist will now be released “later this month” – not too bad. Would-be Point Breakers can grab The Heist on release for $19.99.
Ace Combat Assault Horizon is closing in on its October 11 release date, so to get everyone primed for its release, Namco Bandai has announce additional details about the multiplayer component. (Tricky devils!) The four mode are: Co-op, Capital Conquest, Deathmatch, and Domination. To help keep players abreast about their performance, a website will be set up that will keep track of rankings and offer ways for the community to keep in touch with one another as well as Project Aces team members. Additional details about each mode, and some new shots, can be found below.
T3fun is gearing up for a whole slew of events for Hellgate Global—I wasn’t aware of the “Global” part until just now … huh (Well, you’re also not terribly observant – ED)—with scaled difficulty to match the recently released Tokyo expansion. The events include a Curse of Dawn mode battle with Imhotep and Anaksunamun, a Guild versus match, the return of Boss Time Attack, daily supply giveaways, extra rewards for leveling up, experience bonuses, and a coupon-for-loot program. Additional details for each are available below.
Square Enix has announced several pre-order programs for Final Fantasy XIII-2. Set to hit store shelves on January 31, several retailers have detailed the extras that consumers will get when putting down their fiver with them.
