Castlevania Harmony of Despair launches on PS Network

It’s taken a while, but Castlevania Harmony of Despair is now available for the PS3. The download-only release is now up on PSN for $14.99. The PS3 release features six-player online and four-player local multiplayer, as well as the Beauty, Desire, Situation Dire DLC. The pack adds the Pyramid of Ruin level and adds Julius Belmont and Yoko Belnades to the roster. Additional DLC is also in the works.

Driver San Francisco, recently released for the 360 and PS3, is now available for PC. The $49.99 racer, developed by Ubisoft Reflections under direction of the original creators, puts players in the shoes of Detective John Tanner as he hunts the streets of San Francisco for crime lord Charles Jericho. Tanner will take over 120 licensed cars over 120 miles of road in his hunt, with the ability to instantly shift from one car to another.

House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Cut, the beefed-up PS3 re-release of Overkill for the Wii, will be doubling up on its 3Dness. Sega doesn’t want just those with their newfangled stereoscopic 3D sets to experience what it’s like for undead giblets to fly off the screen, so they will also be letting those with standard sets get in on the action with paper 3D glasses. That’s right, Overkill Extended Cut will feature anaglyphic 3D support—the only way to relive those 1970s-style thrills.

Child of Eden now on PS3, things are about to get trippy

Child of Eden, the “multisensory shooter” from Q Entertainment and Rez creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi, is now available for the PS3. The motion-control shooter supports both the PS Move and stereoscopic 3D, but it can also be played with a standard dualshock controller. An extra feature for the PS3 version also allows for multiple controllers to be hooked up for additional sensory effects.

Col. Tigh and more lend their voices to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Bethesda has announced some of the bigger names that will be voicing characters in their upcoming RPG, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Among the cast are Academy Award nominees Christopher Plummer (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) as a Greybeard elder, Max Von Sydow (The Exorcist) as chronicler and Blade agent Esbern, and Joan Allen (The Bourne Ultimatum) as Blade member Delphine. Other members include Lynda “Wonder Woman” Carter as the Nord hero Gormlaith Golden-Hilt, Michael Hogan (Battlestar Galactica) as Imperial General Tullius, and Claudia Christian (Babylon 5) as Legate Rikke. These are just a handful, though, as the studio ended up hiring over 70 actors to voice the 60,000-plus lines of dialog.

The highly anticipated ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection has hit store shelves for the PS3. The $39.99 compilation includes revamped and enhanced versions of both Fumito Ueda-developed action-platformers, which now sport 1080p HD visuals, an improved frame rate, and support for trophies, 7.1 surround sound, and stereoscopic 3D. In addition, there are extra goodies included on the disc, such as dynamic themes and bonus video content. Amongst the video content are interviews and a sneak peak at Ueda’s follow-up to Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian.
