White Knight Chronicles II on store shelves, mind the dragon corpse

White Knight Chronicles II (PS3) Launch Announcement - Screenshot 1White Knight Chronicles II, the sequel to White Knight Chronicles: International Edition, is now available for the PlayStation 3. Actually, it’s more like a bundle, since the International Edition of the original is included with the sequel – hurray for free games! The Level-5-developed RPGs are said to blend the interactive multiplayer co-op experience with the “cinematic storytelling” of their single-player brethren.

The sequel expands the online player count from four to six, and allows for gamers from North America to join up with European players to go on co-op quests, free-roam adventures, and to even create their own towns. Players can also create an Incorruptus knight to use as their own unique avatar online utilizing an upgraded customization system, “making the character creation and strategy more diverse.” Battles are also faster, and there are now errands, the ability to take on bounties, and Georama features.

Developed by acclaimed Japanese studio LEVEL-5 Inc., White Knight Chronicles II takes players back to the magic-infused kingdom of fantasy, swordplay and myth. Players will follow valiant voyager Leonard on a brand new journey set one year after the first game. Players will master a dynamic combat system that allows them to plan their own strategies and attacks. Along with over 40 hours of online questing, the adventure can last for more than 100 hours!
