PlayStation 3 owners will get a chance to try the PlayStation Portable God of War titles for the first time today, or enjoy them again in 1080p with stereoscopic 3D support, with God of War: Origins Collection. Origins Collections brings together both Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta in one updated package, complete with full-screen anti-aliasing and a steady 60 frames per second frame rate, for $39.99.

There is also additional bonus content, including a Game Directors roundtable discussion and in-game content. The roundtable from Ghost of Sparta includes David Jaffe (I), Cory Barlog (II), Stig Asmussen (III), Ru Weerasuriya (Chains of Olympus), and Dan Jan (Ghost of Sparta), as well as a Legionnaire Kratos skin, and the Forest of the Forgotten combat arena.

For more information on the titles, check out our Chains of Olympus review and Ghost of Sparta review. We’re also running a new Supplementals series for the release of Origins Collection, to get everyone up to speed on Kratos’ famed homeland, their way of fighting, and their way of worship, with the first part already up: Sparta and the Spartans.

The God of War franchise brings epic mythological battles to life with stunning graphics and an Olympic plot that puts Kratos, the series’ main character, at the center of carnage and destruction as he seeks revenge against the Gods who have betrayed him. In God of War: Origins Collection players will discover the dark past that continues to haunt the Spartan Warrior, and why he is forced to choose between his own personal redemption and saving the ancient world from destruction.
