Syndicate – release date, pre-order info announced
Electronic Arts has announced that Starbreeze’s remake of the Bullfrog classic Syndicate will hit store shelves early next year, on February 21. The strategy-turned-first-person shooter is set in 2069 when the world’s corporations, free from pesky governments getting in their way, fight for global domination. Populations are controlled through bio-chips, and you play the role of one such unfortunate soul: Eurocorp’s newest prototype agent, Miles Kilo. Milo’s implant allows him to be an even deadlier soldier for the company, giving him the ability to see through walls, hack enemies and locks, and slow down time.

Psychonauts returns with new version on Steam for PC, Mac
Double Fine has revisited their fan-favorite action-platformer Psychonauts with a new Mac version, new iOS “companion” app, and updated PC version. Steam users can download the PC update now, which includes achievements, cloud saves, and a tweak to make Meat Circus a touch easier. Dracogen handled the port to Mac OS X, which is also available on Steam, as well as the Mac App Store and other digital outlets.

Sam takes a breather, Serious Sam 3: BFE pushed back to November
Croteam has decided to give PC gamers a respite from the onslaught of the relentless, violent hordes itching to get at Sam. Originally scheduled to launch on October 18, the studio has sent word that Serious Sam 3: BFE has been pushed back to November 22.

Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland ships to retail for PS3
The Atelier series is back. NIS’ latest crafting sim-RPG hybrid, Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland, the follow-up to 2010′s Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland, has shipped to retail for the PS3. The Adventurer of Arland takes place several years after The Alchemist of Arland and features a new alchemist, Totooria Helmold. Her adventures will see her traveling throughout the Republic of Arland as she spends her years much like her predecessors, gathering ingredients and formulas to synthesize everything from armor to explosives while finding the time to save the day. I Am Alive making its way to Live Arcade, PSN this winter
I Am Alive is alive! Oh … has that joke been done? Yes? Aw. In any event, Ubisoft has resuscitated the post-apocalyptic action-adventure title as a download-only release. Developed by Ubisoft Shanghai, I Am Alive, scheduled to launch on Live Arcade and PSN this winter, will feature the journey of a man making his way back to his desolate hometown in search of his family.

Pinball FX2 to get new DLC table, Sorcerer’s Lair
Zen Studios will be adding Zen Pinball’s fantasy-themed Sorcerer’s Lair table to the Pinball FX2 platform for the 360. The Live Arcade release will launch on October 12 and feature new achievements, operators menu and rule sheet.

Panzer Corps – Grand Campaign DLC packs announced
Some more Panzer Corps news for our fellow generals. Just last week a new patch was released, adding some much-needed options and a few handy tweaks, and now Matrix and Slitherine have announced that developer Lordz Games Studio is busy working on DLC. The two packs, Grand Campaign ’39 and Grand Campaign ’40, will go for $4.99 and include 14 new scenarios apiece, new features, and the ability to carry armies over between campaigns. Other DLC packs were also mentioned, with the goal being to create one massive Grand Campaign from 1939 to 1945 consisting of around 70 scenarios.

Cave Story 3D – new shots released, first look at 2D Sprite Mode
NIS has sent along some new screenshots of their upcoming action-platformer Cave Story 3D. These shots show off the 2D mode that can be turned on in the options, which reverts the character back to the original 2D sprite version while the environments remain in 3D.
